Fly Tying 101 Class
Our interactive fly-tying course is the perfect way to discover the fun of fly-tying!
**May 18th, 9-11 am – Cost: $30 for materials (Signup Required)**
In this course is just the thing to help you take your first steps in fly tying…or to brush up on the basics if you need a refresher.
Do you need prior experience? Not at all! We will start at the beginning, learning key skills and techniques as we go. Each new skill will build on the ones learned before it. When done, you will have flies tied by you to take home. And, be well on your way to a lifetime of enjoyment in the fascinating world of fly tying.
We’ll provide the basic fly-tying tools and materials needed for the class.
You’re also welcome to bring your own!
Bringing your own tools?
What’s needed:
1) A tying vise
2) Fly tying scissors
3) A fly-tying bobbin
4) A half-hitch tool
5) A spool of black tying thread (3/0 nylon or 6/0 Veevus)
6) Head Cement
7) Optional but recommended: A fine-tip bottle for dispensing the head cement
